“The yacht becomes part of our daily life. We become attached to her. And when she is gone, we cry after her.”
Susanne Wiegand, Managing Director

“You work on them for years and years, and all of a sudden the docks are empty. The shipyard suddenly looks different – something that has grown here is gone. Our special business does not just take a few days or a few weeks. Our production processes from the first drawings, the detailed engineering and start of steel cutting to the keel laying and the final delivery as well as all subsequent construction phases – all of that can take three, sometimes five years, depending on the size and complexity of the yacht. During that time the yacht becomes part of our daily life. We become attached to her. And when she is gone, we cry after her. But then we want to build another one and it all starts over again. We are shipbuilders after all.”

Susanne Wiegand, Managing Director

At the heart of Nobiskrug …

… more than 1000 highly skilled employees trained in Germany under the best vocational training system in the world are at work.

There is a specific culture …

… attached to NOBISKRUG. There is a real sense of community, people know each other and generations of workers come here, because we are a family-oriented business and there is a certain loyalty to the workforce.

Each of our sophisticated projects begins with a vision.

We listen to our customers’ ideas and passions and we always start with a white piece of paper and a pencil. With the capabilities of our in-house design team, we also work closely with the world’s most renowned designers.

Our in-house engineers …

… will translate their ideas into a mature design 100 % purely made in Germany. Detailed technical knowledge is an essential ingredient for superyacht building. The attraction of innovating something that has never been done before is part of our fascination.

The next step …

… of every superyacht is industrial steel work; it is noise, heat and sweat, it is hard physical labour. Tonnes of steel need to be burned, cut and bent before they can become hulls or superstructures. Parts are added bit by bit, and slowly a structure evolves, and the new yacht’s shape becomes visible.

Therefore …

… the size of our shipyard facilities and our specialized shipbuilding concept enables us to provide a modular, large-size block construction method unique to Germany that assures quality and permits a high-level of prefabrication and pre-outfitting with fittings, fixtures, equipment and systems.

Our in-house capabilities …

… range from hull-construction, steel cutting, mechanical, fitting, pipe fitting, paint, electrical and carpentry workshops are all organized under one roof enabling us for advanced production process at NOBISKRUG.

Our superyachts …

… are highly complex puzzles of custom-made solutions, high quality equipment and challenging innovative system integration.

“The most amazing thing about yacht building is the high quality standard. You are not done just fitting straight, or angled parts together. You are creating flawless perfection and beauty. Building a superyacht is an art and hard work at the same time.”
Hans-Jürgen Schott, Foreman Pre-Assembly

Certified quality

The quality of the work we deliver is by no means exclusively founded on our unique shipbuilding heritage. Tradition and innovation are the key to success.
